Congress for Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine with 26th Annual Meeting of the German Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (DGPI) is organized by Congress Organisation C. Schafer (COCS) GmbH and will be held during Jun 20 - 23, 2018 at Gurzenich Cologne, Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Infectiology and infection medicine are in a steady, sometimes rapid flow of further and further development. On the one hand, this constant change brings new achievements by improving diagnostics, therapy and prevention. On the other hand, infectiology is shaped like no other medical field by microbial evolution, which presents us daily with new - sometimes unpredictable - challenges. Multidrug-resistant pathogens, new dynamics of known - until now rarer - viral diseases, migration, climate change and the associated spread of vectors are topics to be addressed here not only of medical interest. It is obvious, KIT, the largest German-speaking congress for infectiology and tropical medicine, intends to address these diverse topics in an interdisciplinary and interprofessional manner. This idea follows this year's collaboration with the pediatric infectiologists of DGPI. The congress is aimed equally and cross-sectorally at colleagues from various disciplines, clinical researchers, physicians in private practice and basic scientists. Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
